Deqor - Design and Quality Control of RNAi
Idea: To provide a web-based tool for facilitated design and control of siRNAs for RNAi.
Functionality of DEQOR:
- Evaluation of the inhibitory potency of siRNAs through a scoring system based on state-of-the-art parameters for siRNA-design.
- Prediction of regions in a gene that show high silencing capacity based on the base pair composition.
- Prediction of siRNAs with high silencing potential for chemical synthesis.
In addition, each siRNA arising from the input query is evaluated for possible cross-silencing activities by performing BLAST-searches with a sliding window of 20- to 25-mers over the entire length of the input query. DEQOR can therefore predict the probability that a selected mRNA fragment will cross-react with other genes in the cell and helps researchers to specifically design experiments to test the specificity of esiRNAs or chemically designed siRNAs.
